What a Friday! We came into school this morning and Elf made a huge mess with toilet paper in our lunchroom. Today we read The Emperor's Egg by Martin Jenkins. In this book, we learned how a penguin dad takes care of their penguin egg during the winter months while their mother hunts for food for when the penguin egg cracks open. For our first activity, we used our math and cognition skills to do a polar fish number writing page. We identified each of the numbers as we traced over them. Then we used our sensory and science skills to make polar animal footprints into play dough. We made the footprints of wolves, penguins, and owls. During our fine motor activity, we hung ornaments on our tree. Our teachers made sure that all of our ornaments had a hook on them and helped our friends hang them up if they needed it.
