Today we read Mister Seahorse by Eric Carle. Mr. Seahorse carries the baby seahorse eggs across the ocean and encounters many different animals hidden behind different kinds of ocean plants before all of the seahorses hatched. For our sensory and science activity, we laced hungry caterpillar's leaves that he ate. In our next activity, we used our math and cognition skills to recognize shapes. We asked the question: what do you see when identifying them. We also practiced writing the letter K using our literacy and fine motor skills.

Today we read The Very Busy Spider by Eric Carle. In this book, a spider is busy building her web and can't be distracted by the cow, sheep, horse, dog, or goat who are her friends. During our first activity, we used our literacy and fine motor skills to color a busy spider coloring page. We used so many different colors and everyone's turned out super unique! In our math and cognition activity, we practiced counting with Eric Carle's illustrated animals. The drawings had different numbers of each animal so we had to count how many there were on each card. For our last activity, we played in our spider web sensory bin. Our spiders were really stuck in their own spider webs so we had to also work on our fine-motor skills to free them. Tomorrow is our last day to learn all about Eric Carle; we can't wait to see what's planned!
