This week is all about St. Patrick's Day! Our number this week is 5 and our letter is P. We had such a fun morning with our new themed songs! We read Jack and the Leprechaun, by Ivan Robertson and illustrated by Katy Bratun. In our groups, we counted objects like, pots of gold, rainbows, coins, and more St. Patrick's themed things and picked which written number corresponded. Then, we made gold coin sensory soup, which was actually shaving cream, glitter, and water colors. We put our coins from our literacy group into the soup and named which letters were written on the coins.

We had a special guest today from COMC, Ms. A, who taught us five things to remember about health and hygiene. The five basics were about blowing your nose, washing your hands, sneezing into your sleeve, washing your body, and brushing your teeth. Then, Ms. A and COMC gave us toothbrushes to keep up our oral hygiene! Thank you COMC! We finished our week's theme, Health and Hygiene, by talking all about teeth and oral hygiene in our activities. We pointed to and named numbers that were on teeth using a giant toothbrush! Then, we had a yellow dry erase marker to signify plaque and teeth and colored in the letters on the teeth that were in our names. Next, we took a pretend toothbrush and brushed the letters of our name, while naming the letters that were not already written on the teeth! We celebrated a few birthdays today as well!
