This week we are learning all about Thanksgiving! Today we read Clifford's Puppy Days: Thanksgiving Feast by Quinlan Lee. Clifford and his family go on a trip to grandma's house but then get stranded at the train station. Instead of being sad or angry they decide to make a big feast and celebrate Thanksgiving with the other passengers on the train. During our math and cognition activity, we did a pumpkin pie cool whip counting. We used cotton balls as our cool whip to count and placed them onto our pumpkin pies. Then, we used our fine motor skills to place feathers into a strainer to make a turkey. We put colorful feathers all over our turkey and made sure there were no empty spots. For our sensory and science activity, we made Thanksgiving paper hats. We colored our different kinds of Thanksgiving hats and then our teachers cut them out and placed them onto our heads.
