Happy Tuesday! We are having so much fun with community helpers week! Today we read a book called Chef's by Amanda Askew and Andrew Crowson. This book was about a group of chefs that had to prepare a meal for the restaurant. They were trying to get all of specials for the day ready for opening. This is when one of the chefs realized that the refrigerator had quit working. They then had to hurry and try to replace all of their food to get it cooked in time. Luckily the farmer had everything but the pork chops that they were needing so he replaced that with chicken. The chefs were so excited to have all the ingredients they needed for all their specials and the opening turned out perfect! For our first activity today we did our math and cognition activity. We had firetrucks with different shapes on them and we all took turns matching our shapes together. For our next activity, we did our sensory and science activity. The kids had a blast with this activity. We had police badges and we got to paint them and decorate them. We used red white and blue paint. We also talked about how to make the color pink. Make sure to ask your children if they remember what two colors we used to make our pretty pink paint. For fine motor and literacy we had a paper with different zig zag lines and wavy lines that all ended in a community helper vehicle. With this activity, we cut all the way down our lines until we got to our vehicles. We did a great job on this activity!
