Happy Monday! This week we are learning about what each community helper does for our community. We read a book titled A Day with Mail Carriers by Jodie Shepherd. In this book, we learned what mail carriers do and how many different kinds of mail can be delievered. During our first activity, we used our fine motor skills to trace along firefighter lines. As we traced our lines we talked about how when firefighters have to go put out fires they sometimes have to go really far away or sometimes it's right up the road. We then did our math and cognition activity of counting tow trucks and finding the corresponding number. Our teachers told us that a tow truck driver is a helpful person in the community that picks up broken down vehicles. For our sensory and science activity, we made community helper paper hats. We colored our different hats and then our teachers cut them out and taped the pieces together so we could put them on our heads.
