This week we are learning about leaves and acorns. Today we read Let It Fall by Maryann Cocca-Leffler. In this book, we learned about all of the fall activities that happen once it turns colder and the leaves begin to fall. For our first activity, we used our sensory and science skills to look into our leaves and acorn sensory bin. Our bin had fake leaves and pinecones that fell from a tree. Then, we used our math and cognition skills to count acorns as we put them on our acorn tree. Some of our trees had only one or two acorns put onto them and other trees had a bunch of different acorns on it. During our literacy and fine motor activity, we made leaf wands. We made our leaf wand by attaching a pipe cleaner to a fake leaf and placing different colored beads on the pipe cleaner to make the wand more sturdy.
