Today we read Leaves Leaves Leaves by Melvin and Gilda Berger. We learned a lot about the colors leaves turn, how the leaves fall, and different fun things that we can do while playing in the leaves. For our first activity, we used our fine motor skills to practice our cutting skills. We colored a pumpkin, apple, acorn, and leaf and then we used our scissors to cut each one of them out. During our sensory and science activity, we did an experiment with the veins that are in a leaf. Our teachers made a huge leaf and used straws to make the veins of the leaf. We then used a pipet to act as the tree giving water to the leaf through all of the straw veins our leaf have. In our last activity, we used our math and cognition skills to count and trace the acorns that we had on our page. We traced the numbers one through ten and counted as we went along the paper.
