Happy Wednesday! Today has been a fun filled day so far. This morning we had some firefighters come visit us and talk to us about fire safety. They read a book called Going to the Firehouse by Mercer Mayer. In this book, Little Critter goes on an adventure to the firehouse to see the firetruck and fire dog. The firefighters also showed us what type of gear they wear to keep them safe from the hot fires they have to deal with. We learned to stop, drop, and roll if there is fire on us as well as how we should crawl out of our house if it was on fire. Then we got to go outside and look at their firetruck that they brought. They let us see all of the tools that they have and they even let us sit up in the truck! For our math and cognition activity, we did a leaf shape coloring. Each leaf was a different shape and we had to color it with the corresponding colored shape. Then, during our sensory and science activity, we made leaf handprint towels. We had a friend use their fine motor skills to paint our palm and fingers so that we could place our hand on our towel to make leaves and acorns.
