Happy Thursday! We are continuing to learn all about leaves and acorns. Today we read the book There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed Some Leaves written by Lucille Colandro. This book is about a woman who first swallows some leaves and then decides to swallow a shirt followed by a pumpkin all of which leads to her sneezing so all of the multiple things she has swallowed come tumbling out. For our activities today, we had lots of fun with leaves! For our sensory and science activity, we found all kinds of different leaves to put under our paper. Then, we felt where our leaves were placed and used our crayons to color over the top of them in order to make an imprint of our leaves. We had all kinds of different colorful leaf pictures. For math and cognition, we did a fun activity called acorn roll and color. In this activity, we took dice and we rolled them. We then counted the dots to see how many we had rolled and found an acorn on our paper that had the matching number and colored it. We did this until we had rolled every number on our dice and colored every acorn on our paper. For our fine motor and literacy activity, we had a paper with our names written on them really big and we used the big stamp pads to trace all of the letters of our names using our finger prints!
