Happy Friday! Today we read a book called Red Leaf, Yellow Leaf by Lois Ehlert. This book talks to us about sugar maple seeds being brought to a tree nursery and replanted to grow into a big tree. For our first activity, we used our math and cognition skills to complete leaf patterns. We looked at each pattern to figure out what came next in our pattern. Then we made acorn people during our fine motor activity. We made our acorn into a person by coloring it brown and gluing arms and legs onto it before putting their eyes on their face. During our sensory and science activity, we used play dough to make the different parts of an acorn and used play dough cutters to make the outlines of different types and sizes of leaves. We covered the colored-in part of our acorn with our play dough.
