Today we read The Night Before Halloween by Cynthia Fisher. This book has a Halloween party that monsters put on for all of the kids trick-or-treating but they are all scared of them until they realize that they are nice monsters. For our first activity, we used our sensory and science skills to look inside our Halloween sensory bin. Our sensory bin had scary spiders, ghosts, and other monsters in it. We then used our literacy and fine motor skills to practice writing the letter 'J' on a letter worksheet. We practiced writing the uppercase and lowercase letter 'J' and colored in our letter as well as finding all of the other letter 'Js' that were in a mix of letters. During our math and cognition activity, we counted some Halloween clip cards. We counted the number of items on each card and then found the correct number and clipped a clothespin onto the number.
