Today we read It's Pumpkin Time by Zoe Hall and illustrated by Shari Halpern. In this book, some kids plant some pumpkin seeds in a field and they talk about how they grow through the summer and turn orange in the fall. For our first activity, we worked on a letter 'I' worksheet using our literacy and fine motor skills. The worksheet had us color in the letter, trace it, circle pictures that started with the letter, and find the letter 'I' in a mess of different letters. Then we used our math and cognition skills to do a pumpkin number matching. We had to find the match to each of our pumpkins in the pumpkin patch and place them in the spots that they need to go. During our sensory and science activity, we did a science experiment with elephant toothpaste. We placed our elephant toothpaste inside of a big pumpkin to make it come out of its mouth and all over the table.
