Happy Thursday! Today we read the book Pumpkin Countdown by Joan Holub and illustrated by Jan Smith. This book is about a class of 19 kids and 1 teacher that are going on a field trip to the pumpkin patch. All throughout the book they are doing different countdowns from how many seats they have to how many pumpkins they see. They start off by counting all the students and teachers and see that it adds up to twenty. We have had a blast with pumpkin week! To end our fun pumpkin week we redid our pumpkin elephant toothpaste science experiment and we were so excited that it worked today.  It was a blast to watch it ooze pink out of our pumpkins eyes and mouth! For our math and cognition activity today, we traced numbers on a pumpkin themed activity sheet. We had ten different pumpkins and each pumpkin had a number in it to trace. For sensory and science today, we made pumpkins using play dough. We first rolled out our play dough with our rollers. Next we pushed in our cookie cutters to cut our our pumpkin shapes and some of us even gave our pumpkins some cute faces. Our last activity was fine-motor and literacy. Our teachers wrote each of our names on a pumpkin and helped us cut out each letter. We then pieced our names back together and glued them pumpkin on orange construction paper. We had so much fun and also learned so much!
