Today we read Apples A to Z by Margaret McNamara and illustrated by Jake Parker. This book walked us through the alphabet and how each letter can be something to do with apples. For our first activity, we used our math and cognition skills to sort apples to the correct colored apple tree. We used pom poms as our apples and dropped them into the paper towel roll tree trunk that had the same colored apples on them. Then we used our literacy and fine motor skills to make apple trees using our names as the apples. We built our tree starting with the trunk and tree top then we used little red apples with letters of our names to put our name in order on the apple tree. During our sensory and science activity, we painted using apples. We placed an apple half into paint and stamped it onto our papers to leave the shape of an apple.
