This week we are learning all about space. Today we read Hedgie Blasts Off by Jan Brett. In this book, Hedgie the Hedgehog wants to become an astronaut and travel to space so that is what he does and while he is up in space he meets aliens. For our first activity, we took yarn and made human constellations. We made our constellations using our math and cognition skills to hold onto the yarn and make different shapes with it. Then, we took our fine motor skills and drew spaceships in space. Our spaceships were launching into the sky and made it to space where they would fly by the different planets and all of the stars. During our sensory and science activity, we looked into our sensory bin to find all different sized asteroid rocks. Our asteroids were very dirty so we took toothbrushes and sponges and dipped them into soapy water to get the asteroids all clean.
