Today we had a special visitor from the MU extension come talk to us about germs. She read a book to us called Those Mean Nasty Dirty Downright Disgusting but...Invisible Germs written by Judith Rice. In this book, a little girl collects germs throughout the day on different toys but she defeat them by washing her hands before eating meals. Our guest also let us dance with her colorful scarves that she brought in for us to use. During our first small group activity, we used our math and cognition skills to discuss who has the letter 'C' in their name. We found out that only a few of our friends have a letter 'C' in their name. In our other small group activity, we took play dough and made planets and craters into the play dough using our sensory and science skills. We made our planets different sizes just like the ones in space. Then for our fine motor activity, we got into a large group to make planets by dotting our papers and drawing rings around the circles.
