Today we read Gotcha by Gail Jorgensen. In this book, a bear starts to cut into her birthday cake when a big fly buzzes by her head and right onto her birthday cake so she tries to catch the fly. During our first small group activity, we used our sensory and science skills to make forest animal tracks into some sand. Our animals made different kinds of tracks because of their size and how their feet were shaped. We then did a forest animal matching game in another small group for our math and cognition activity. Our game allowed us to understand where certain animals live and that not all animals live on the ground but they also can live in the water, underground, or in the trees. For our fine motor activity, we did a drawing exploration of a forest. We talked about how forests have many different kinds of trees and animals.
