It's Thursday and that means that we only have one more day to learn about the circus. Today in our red group, we read Clifford at the Circus by Norman Bridwell. In this book, Clifford and Emily Elizabeth helps at the circus by becoming a tightrope walker, a clown, and even an elephant. In our blue group, we read Eight Silly Monkeys by Steve Haskamp. These silly monkeys jumped, danced, tumbled, ate, slid, swung, and spun off of the bed making their mother call the doctor each time a monkey fell. During our first small group, we played using our sensory and science skills in our sensory bin that was full of circus objects. In our math and cognition small group activity, we did some clown number puzzles. For our large group activity, we learned some sign language using our literacy and fine motor skills. The words that we learned sign language for were lion, tiger, ball, and elephant. All of those words could be useful when talking about the circus!
