Today in our blue group, we read Clifford at the Circus by Norman Bridwell. In this book, Clifford and Emily Elizabeth helps at the circus by becoming a tightrope walker, a clown, and even an elephant. In our red group, we read Eight Silly Monkeys by Steve Haskamp. These silly monkeys jumped, danced, tumbled, ate, slid, swung, and spun off of the bed making their mother call the doctor each time a monkey fell. During our sensory and science activity, we looked into our sensory bin filled with circus objects. We found many animals, people, and other circus related items in small groups. For our literacy and fine motor group, we made lion masks in another small group. We took a paper plate with a hole in the middle of it and decorated it with yellow yarn and orange ribbon to create a lion's mane. In our large group activity, we colored some puzzle pieces in to then mixed them all up and made an elephant puzzle using our math and cognition group.
