It's Friday and that means it was our last day learning about creepy, crawly bugs and insects. During our story time today, we read The Happy Bee by Ian Beck. This book has a little bee that flies around each morning to say good morning to the different flowers and he also talks about the different types of weather that could occur while he is flying. During our literacy and fine motor activity, we took little jars and drew lighting bugs inside the jar. In our cognition and math group, we played red light, green light but instead of saying red light or green light we said summer and winter. We said summer as the green light because in the summertime all of the bugs are active. We said winter for the red light to show how bugs sleep during this time of the year. We also used our sensory and science skills to melt "bug eggs." Our bug eggs were an ice cube with a bug stuck inside.
