Our morning began with reading Wind at circle time. We talked about what we already knew and then discussed what the book explained. Instead of small and large group activities, we read another book called What Can the Wind Blow? and then watched a demonstration. We predicted whether a box fan would blow different materials including a balloon, a tissue, foam, a plastic bag, a ball, a sock, and a piece of card stock covered in aluminum foil. After making our predictions, we watched as each material was tested. We found that all of the items blew up and around except for the sock, which stayed swirling on the fan, and the ball that didn't move. Weights were discussed and we decided that the sock and the ball were too heavy for the fan to blow away. Next, we created our very own windsocks! We got to decorate our card stock pieces and then we used scissors and glue to put our crafts together. It was so nice to spend some time outdoors this morning, and we are looking forward to more nice weather!
