We have had a great start to our week of learning about letters! Today we read Shiver Me Letters: A Pirate ABC by June Sobel. In this book, we all pretended to be like the pirates in this book and helped them find all of the missing letters. For our sensory and science activity, we played with play dough. We rolled out our play dough with our rollers and then took our letter play dough cutters to make lots of different shapes. Then we used our math and cognition skills to sort letters by color. We each took a turn with a colored piece of paper and helped each other sort the letters to the correct colored paper. During our literacy and fine motor activity, we traced and recognized the letters of the alphabet. As we traced the letters we talked about what words start with the letter that we traced.
