Today we read the book Thanksgiving Mice written by Bethany Roberts. In this book, a bunch of adorable mice put on a play explaining how they went on the Mayflower to get to America and how they celebrated Thanksgiving with a big feast. We also had our amazing Thanksgiving feast made by Mrs. Tammy today for our lunch. During our math and cognition activity, we sorted out colored dominos onto a giant turkey. Our giant turkey had many different colored feathers that we had to match the correctly colored domino to. Then we used our literacy and fine motor skills to draw what we would have on our Thanksgiving dinner plates. We talked about how we could draw a big slice of pumpkin pie, turkey, mashed potatoes, or what ever else they would like on their plates. For our sensory and science activity, our teachers made a turkey rocket. They tied a string that had a straw on it to two chairs and then taped a blown up balloon to the straw. Once it was taped on our teacher let it go and we watched it fly down the string.
