Happy Monday! Today we read This is the Turkey by Abby Levine and illustrated by Paige Billin-Frye. In this book, Max's family found the perfect turkey for Thanksgiving and cooks it up but then it goes flying across the room into the fish tank when Max trips with it on a plate. His family said that the turkey is not the most important thing at Thanksgiving but being together is the most important thing. During our first activity, we used our fine motor skills to give our turkeys a haircut using scissors. We trimmed the turkey's crazy feathers down and some of our friends gave him a crazy look. For our sensory and science activity, we used corn on the cob as an instrument to paint with. We rolled the corn on the cob through the paint and then rolled it all over our paper to make our painting. Then we used our math and cognition skills to trace over the numbers one through ten. We identified each of the numbers as we traced over them.
