Its a new week! This week we are learning all about the forest. Today we read the book Big Smelly Bear by Britta Teckentrup. This book is all about a smelly bear that does not like to take baths. Smelly bear does not care at first but then one day he gets an itch on his back that he can not reach to scratch. Thats when another bear speaks up and tells him he would help him. Eventually smelly bear gives in and goes down to the pond for a bath. Today for activities for our math and cognition we counted forest animals. We had animals with all different numbers on them and then we counted how many dots were on our animals to see what our numbers were if we did not know them. For our sensory and science activity today we painted forest animals with water colors. We had some really pretty forest animals. We then cut them out and turned them into puppets. For our last activity we had our literacy and fine motor skills activity. We laced forest animal shapes with string. The kids are getting really good with lacing!
