Today we read T-Rex and the Mother's Day Hug written by Lois G. Grambling and illustrated by Jack E. Davis. In this book, T-Rex wants to do something special for his mom and we talked about how important it is to help and do special things for our family members even if it is just giving them a hug. During our math and cognition activity, we named off body parts that we have and counted to see how many of each we possess. We concluded that we only have one head and nose but, for our fingers and toes, we counted up to ten. Then we used our literacy and fine motor skills to make a caterpillar with the letter C. We took our letter C and glued pom poms onto it to make the caterpillar's body. For our sensory and science activity, we looked into our family sensory bin. There were a bunch of family members in the sensory bin and as as a group, we identified what family member each little person represented.
