Today we read The Night Before Summer Vacation by Natasha Wing and illustrated by Julie Durrell. A family is trying to pack for their family vacation and they keep forgetting things that they need but in the end they had the best vacation ever. For our first activity, we used our imagination and went on a dramatic play picnic using our cognition skills. During our fine motor activity, we weaved pipe cleaners through hot dogs to put the condiments on them. We had yellow pipe cleaners for the mustard and red pipe cleaners for ketchup. We also made play dough ice cream cones using our sensory and science skills. Our ice cream cones had a cone shape for the bottom and a ball for the ice cream.
