Today was the last day that our MU extension visitor came in to talk to us about the different food groups. She read a book titled Jack and the Hungry Giant by Loreen Leedy. In this book, Jack climbs up the giant beanstalk and meets a kind, hungry giant that cooks him a nutritious meal with all of the food groups on their plates. During our math and cognition activity, we matched the opposites for directions. So if a card said that the direction was left of a chair than the correct match to the card is right of the chair. Then we made chalk art with opposites using our literacy and fine motor skills. We drew the opposite of hot, sun, and day on our chalk board. For our sensory and science activity, we discussed who was wet and who was dry from playing in the water.
