It's Friday and we have had so much fun learning about weather this week. Today we read Wind by Marion Dane Bauer and illustrated by John Wallace. This book talks about where the wind comes from on our planet and the effects it can have across the globe. For our math and cognition activity, we used play dough to make raindrops and then we counted all of the raindrops that we made. We used our literacy and fine motor skills to do some weather sign language. We learned sign language for the following words: water, tree, and kite; we learned how wind takes a role in blowing the trees and keeping kites in the air as well as how rain consists of water. We also raced wind clouds in our sensory and science activity. To race our wind clouds we used a straw to blow the cotton ball cloud across the table. We talked about how the wind can move the clouds across the sky. Weather is an incredible thing and we are so happy to have had the opportunity to expand our knowledge of how it works!
