This week, we are learning about community helpers. At music time, we danced to songs about firefighters, police officers, and other helpers in our community. At circle time today, we read Vicky the Vet by Felicity Brooks and illustrated by Jo Litchfield. For our math and cognition activity, we matched numbers on bandaids. We then got writing boards out and used our literacy and fine motor skills to practice writing the letter "L." For our science and sensory skills, we had a special visit from a fire engine. We were able to touch the different tools that they use and sit in the cab of the engine. Before going back inside, we heard the fire engine's siren.
