Today we read The Way I Feel written and illustrated by Janan Cain. After the book, they got to go in the motor room and make faces upside down on the trapeze bar to express feelings. We had many interactive and fun activities today! We started with passing a happy face balloon around in a circle during music and movement. When the song stopped, each child was asked a question, such as: "How do you spell your name?" Next, we did small group activities. We used letter boards to practice our names and the letter of the week "z" for language and literacy. We also practiced writing "z" with our fingers in putty. Then, for math and cognition, we compared objects each child found in the classroom and classified them as "big" or "small". At last, for sensory and science, we talked about opposites by sitting in the dark sensory room and turning on the light.
Friendly Reminders:
CLC is closed next week August 17th-21st for teacher work week. The 2020-21 session starts Monday, August 24th.
