Today we read Bear's New Friend by written by Karma Wilson and illustrated by Jane Chapman.  First, for activities, we got in small groups and did Summer trace counting for math and cognition.  They practiced writing numbers 1-10 on the dotted lines.  Next, we had the watermelon letter match for language and literacy.  They matched the same letters together and identified each one.  At last, for science and sensory they got to do the "fly swat".  Each one had a piece of paper with flies drawn on it.  They got to swat them with real fly swatters!  As you may know, many of our friends are graduating preschool and moving on to kindergarten.  One of our friends came in today to say goodbye!
