Today, we enjoyed the beautiful morning weather by having circle time outdoors. We discussed the first day of summer and we all got to be weather watchers! Our short video briefly explained the layers of the rainforest, gave examples of animals found on each layer, and facts about them. For our first small group activity, we made mini rainforests in bottles. We took turns adding in materials that represented the plant life found on each layer and taped on reference labels. Next, we used pipettes and eye droppers to drip water color "rain drops" inside large and small letters as the second activity. Then, for the final small group, we read about different kinds of plants and animals of the rainforest and tried to find all of the matches. It was a marvelous Thursday!
