This morning we briefly discussed the reason behind Independence Day, after watching an educational video, as we will be off for the week of the Fourth. For our first small group activity, we went on a star search around the classroom. After retrieving the hidden stars, we identified the numbers on them and matched them to the corresponding numbers on our paper. Next, we explored the red, white, and blue sensory bin as the second activity. In addition to the delightful aroma of the coconut sand dough, we found all sorts of patriotic colored items. For the large group activity, we created fireworks in the night sky by cutting muffin liners and gluing them to our black papers. It was a grand Monday!
