As an ending to our school week, and as a start to our weekend, we discussed the purpose behind Cinco De Mayo for our cultural day, and we watched a short video with facts about the Mexican holiday. For our first small group activity, we played "Wheel of Taco" and took turns flicking a spinner, identifying the food topping and number, then adding that amount of toppings to our taco shell. We learned a new Cinco De Mayo celebration song with our maracas as our second activity. Finally, for our whole group, we created chili peppers by lacing beads onto fuzzy sticks. It was such a fun Friday!
