To begin this week, and end this month, we are learning about nocturnal animals. Bats were fitting animals to focus on for Halloween. At circle time, we read What Do Bats Do? We enjoyed looking at the pictures of the bats hanging upside down, and learning about the different things that they eat. Our first small group activity involved identifying numbers on bats, and then counting googly eyes to add to our creatures. For our second small group, we took turns shining flashlights on alphabet bats, identifying the letters as we went. As our whole group activity, we created night skies with Play Doh, sparkling gems, and star cut outs. Some of our friends even made their own nocturnal creatures! Today was a marvelous Monday!
