Today, during circle time we read Penguins, Penguins Everywhere. For one of our small groups, we pretended to have polar bear skin! We dipped our fingers in lard, and then dipped them in ice cold water. To our surprise our fingers remained warm, just like a polar bear does when they swim! For our other small group we got to feed penguins! We rolled a set of dice, and whatever number it landed on, we corresponded that number with the amount of goldfish we fed to the penguin. For our large group we played with polar bear fur! We used cottons balls as fur and we pulled on them, rolled them in our hands, and explored their texture! We had an awesome day!
