Today we read There Was a Cold Lady Who Swallowed Some Snow by Lucille Colandro. This book is about a cold lady that swallows various snow related items until she becomes too full and spits it out to make a snowman. In our sensory and science group, we took pipets and filled in our raindrops. We used our math and cognition skills to count how many drops it took to fill the raindrop. We also made a Russian nesting doll craft by coloring our paper and using our fine motor skills to cut out our doll and glue it together. It was the perfect day to learn about rain since that seems to be our upcoming weather for the next couple of days!

Today we read Four Seasons for Little People by Jerry Ballard. We learned about each of the seasons and what the weather does during that season while reading this book. During our math and cognition activity, we matched shapes on a paper plate. Once we got all of the shapes matched up, we saw that we made a sun. For our fine-motor and literacy activity, we practiced writing our names onto a cloud of shaving cream. In our sensory and science group, we questioned how clouds make rain and did an experiment to find out. We took a cotton ball and used a pipet to make our rain drops go through the cotton cloud and drip out of the other side when it became too full to hold the water. Weather is so interesting and it's so exciting to get to learn all about it!
