Today, during circle time we read Let's Have a Tree Party. For our first small group activity, we matched pipe cleaners by color to pictures of porcupines to give them their spikes. For our second small group activity, we matched pictures of different woodland animals. For our final small group activity, we practiced our writing skills by tracing lines that led to different forest animals.

Today, during circle time we read Big Smelly Bear. For our first small group activity, we painted with rice mixed with paint to make porcupines. For our second small group activity, we matched pictures of bear paws by identifying upper and lower case letters. For our final small group activity, we matched squirrels to nuts by the amount of acorns to correspond to the number drawn on the squirrel. We had a marvelous Monday.

You can floss them, you can brush them, and you can smile with them! They're your teeth, and today we learned how to keep them clean! Ms. Sarah, who is a dental assistant came in and talked to us about why it's important to keep your teeth clean and the different methods to do so. We also go to do activities where we used a tooth brush to erase black "cavities" off of teeth, put play-doh teeth in mouths, and identified numbers on teeth by coloring them. We had a fantastic Friday.

The life of a vet is to help our pets! Dr. Rachel from Lake of the Ozarks Animal Hospital came to visit us and talk to us about the day in the life of a veterinarian. She brought in different types of worms that animals can get, and talked about how she can help them feel better. She also brought in puppy teeth to show the kids that puppies can lose their baby teeth just like we can! Our favorite demonstration she brought was the light that showed x-rays after they were taken. We had an awesome day.
