Today, we read Under the Apple Tree.  For our small group activities, we talked about less and more and counted apples and then, we did a science experiment with apples. We put apple piece in cups: one with water, one with vinegar, one with lemon juice, and one was empty. We are going to see how the apples change over the next few days. For large group, we "bobbed" for apples by getting the apples out of tubs of water with tongs. We had a fun day!

Today, was our cultural day! I asked the kids where we lived and they responded with "Camdenton, Missouri." I showed them our location on the globe and then, showed them where Germany is.  R said "Wow, that's really far away." Windmills are something found in Germany, so we did an activity with pinwheels. We talked about how they moved and what made them move. We also did a puzzle that showed Germany's flag. For lunch we ate German Schnitzel and Blaukraut! We also read A Was Once Apple Pie and had our Star of the Week share his board and favorite items!

This week is all about apples! We read Apples Grow on Trees. In small groups, we explored the apples, cinnamon, and oats sensory table with scoops. We also sorted apples by matching sizes and colors, and lining them up from small to medium to big. In large group, we stamped pictures with apples, trees, apple pickers, and the letter A for apple! We had a great day!

Today, we read My Family. We used foam blocks to make pictures of houses. We laced on animal cards with shoe laces. We made animal footprints in play dough and talked about the sizes of them. We also reviewed the letter of the week T and played with our hermit crabs this morning! Have a great weekend and remember this is the last week to bring in items for the yard sale! Bake sale items are also welcomed, but please individually wrap them! Thank you!

Today, we read Bad Kitty: an ABC book! We gave our animals a bubbly sponge bath. We did different pet puzzles. Some were a little more complex than others. Later, we talked about letter families of lowercase or little and uppercase or big. We had a great day.
