Today these little cubs painted the first piece of our craft that we will be working on this week. We used rollers, brushes and, of course, our hands! We used orange and yellow paint to create a tawny color. Can you guess what we are making? I dropped a couple hints and here is one more...Tomorrow we will manely be using streamer. 

Today we made paint dot fish to go in our pond we made last week. We did a lot of sorting today by size and colors. Some of us washed our baby dolls. We read Baby Signs for Bedtime and practiced some American Sign Language. Our little friends really our Baby Signs books.

Due to our snow-covered playground we spent much time indoors this week, so to get our energy out we went to the motor room. We jumped, climbed, swang, and danced! Our little friends really enjoyed singing and dancing to "The Wheels on the Bus." We crumpled tissue paper and pasted it on the a sheet of construction to make "truffula trees" and read Dr. Seuss's The Shapes of Me and Other Stuff.

Because of Dr. Seuss's birthday on March 2nd, this week's theme was Dr. Seuss. Today we painted a pond with bubble wrap. This was a fun was to explore new materials and a new method of painting. We also played with our sensory balloons and explore different textures. I suggest sensory balloons as an at home activity for your children, they love it! 

Today we enjoyed a new activity, our peg boards. We talked about the colors and shapes of the pegs and sorted them. We also built towers on them. One little friend made a tower of eight pegs! We also painted with marbles. We put a piece of paper on the inside of a Rubbermaid container, our little friend picked out a few different paint colors and squirted paint on the paper, and then she dropped the marbles in the container, we put the lid on, and then let the shaking begin! Today we rolled right into Shapes week with circles. We played in the motor room, jumping on our circle trampoline and kicking and throwing balls. We went on a circle scavenger hunt in our classroom and found different circular objects and put them in our circle basket. We also read out book Touch and Feel Shapes.
