Today we read My Farm Friends by Wendell Minor. Then, we danced to Halloween versions of our favorite songs for music and movement.  Next, we got in small groups for activities.  During activities, we had two special surprise guests show up from the National Guard. They wanted to help the kids know why they dress in uniform and what they do so they can be comfortable and familiar with people in uniforms. In our small groups, we counted the number of farm animals on each card for math and cognition.  Then, we learned some new farm animal ASL signs for literacy and fine motor.  We saved the best for last and taught the children how to make butter in a jar of heavy whipping cream by shaking it back and forth for sensory and science.  They were really happy to try the butter on Ritz crackers.

Friendly Reminders:

CLC will be closed Friday, October 23rd for Teacher Work Day.

Please remember to bring a warm change of clothing and a light jacket for your child as the season has changed.  Please remember to bring your child's backpack and red folder.  Have a great weekend!!!
