We read Umbrella, by Taro Yoshima today during circle time. Then, in our small groups, we made weather sensory bottles that we get to take home! For sensory/science, we went outside to get some natural elements, adding sticks, leaves, flowers, and all kinds of fun objects. Second, we added a special object that we got to choose. This object can serve as a memento after your child is done with the sensory bottle if you wish. Third, we added glitter, paper, water colors, and water to complete our bottles. Next, we did weather tracing sheets and dotting sheets, with lines and weather objects, like rain, lightning bolts, clouds, and more. Finally, we did a weather language and dress activity for fine motor/literacy where we chose what each child would wear for certain weather conditions. What a fun week all about weather!
