Today, we read Five Little Monkeys Jumping on the Bed, retold and illustrated by Eileen Christelow. In our math/cognition group, we counted eggs, and read the number that was written on each egg. In our literacy/fine motor group, we read the nursery rhyme, "Humpty Dumpty" and we built a balance wall to stand for the wall that Humpty sat on in the rhyme. Our wall was also part of our sensory/science group. We noticed that if there was an incline, the "eggs" would roll off of the wall. For sensory/science, we also went outside and Ms. Adrienne asked us what would happen if she dropped a real egg on the concrete. Our friends said that the egg would break, and it did! We had so much fun walking by the egg to see how it looked when it was busted!
