Today at circle time we read We Pick up the Park. For our first activity, we put food coloring in water and added flowers so we can watch the flowers change colors as they get a drink! In our second activity, we used real flowers to make a painting. Our last activity was planting some flowers of our own! We put soil in a cup, added seeds, and watered them. We will have lots of fun watching our flowers grow and bringing them home.

Today we continued talking about flowers! At circle time we read Raindrops and talked about how flowers need rain to grow. For our first activity, we practiced our fine motor skills by lacing beads onto a flower stem and counting them. In our second group we matched uppercase letters on flowers to the lowercase letters on pots. In our third group we used flower cookie cutters in play-doh! We had a great day!

We had another visit from Mrs. Ashley today! We read a story about how gardens grow and then we got to do two activities. In the first activity we had pictures of things we might find in a garden and got to act out motions that go with those items. We flew like butterflies and wiggled like worms! The second activity was exploring a pan of potting soil and searching for "bugs" inside! Then we got to go outside and check on our vegetables we planted last week! Today was a terrific Tuesday!

We started a new theme all about flowers this week! At circle time we read We Need Water. We took advantage of the nice weather and did our activities outside today. For the first activity we used counting cubes to measure flowers. Our second activity was identifying the different parts of a flower. For the third activity we glued flowers with letters to spell our names! It was a marvelous Monday!

To end our week about ponds, we watched a short video about a turtle named Franklin! Then we got to paint a lily pad and make a frog out of our handprint! We had a fun Friday.

Today we decided to take advantage of the nice weather and do our activities outside! We matched pictures of frogs by color and discussed how the most colorful ones are usually the most dangerous. In our second group we got to feed a frog by picking up flies with a pair of tweezers. In our third activity we explored muddy pond water and had to find the items in the pond that didn't belong! It was a beautiful Wednesday!
