It's Friday fun day, and we did things a little wacky to celebrate. Usually we do our activities in the morning but since the weather was so nice, we decided to have extra time outside in the morning and do our activities in the afternoon! Our letter of the week was B, so we talked about all the things we could think of that start with B. Then, we each got a paper with an uppercase and a lowercase B on it, and we traced the letter with glue. After that, we got beads to stick in our glue to decorate! We had a great Friday and we hope everyone enjoys their long weekend!

To continue our Letters and Numbers theme, we read an AlphaTales book titled When Tilly Turtle Came to Tea. Then, we got to practice counting by putting pom-poms in ice cream cones and counting to the number on the cone. We also worked on writing our names and identifying the letters in them. Our last group was a science experiment with bubbles to represent our letter of the week, B. We put dish soap and baking soda in a bottle, then added vinegar to watch it foam! In the afternoon, we got to learn all about our Star of the Week and some of his favorite things. After that, we played a special game of giant ker-plunk because it was too wet to go outside! It was such a terrific Thursday!

On this wonderful Wednesday, we got to finish Dr. Seuss's ABCs since it was too long to read the whole thing yesterday. Then, we worked more on our letters and numbers in three small groups. Our first group sorted items by the letter that they started with. In our second group, we searched the sensory bin for number magnets and got to stick them to a baking sheet! In our third activity, we got to work on name identification with a hidden message picture. We started with a blank sheet of paper and after putting watercolor paint on it, our name showed up! We got to end our great day playing outside after the rain finally stopped!

To continue our Letters and Numbers theme, we read some of Dr. Seuss's ABCs during our circle time. We practiced sorting in our first activity by putting our letters in groups by color. In our second small group, we had small craft sticks with uppercase and lowercase letters to put together to make a big stick. In our third small group, we worked together to melt blocks of ice that had letters frozen inside. We used eye droppers to put warm water on the ice and discussed the letters we found inside. Then we had extra time in the classroom in the afternoon because it was so hot outside! It was a totally awesome Tuesday.
