For this new week we have begun a new theme. At circle time, we listened to If You Give a Pig a Party and briefly discussed Laura Numeroff as a children's author. Our first small group activity involved identifying letters on party hats and matching them to corresponding letters on little pigs. We decorated small "birthday cake" bowls in the sensory bin with shaving cream "icing" and sprinkles. Then, as the final activity, we identified shapes on pig noses and matched them to the corresponding shape cut outs. We even got to sing to celebrate one friend's birthday that happened over break and for another friend who will become one year older tomorrow. It was a marvelous Monday!
