Today, during our circle time, we read The Foolish Tortoise. As the first small group activity, we worked on our counting skills by identifying the numbers on turtles and matching them to the ponds with that many dots. The next activity involved weaving paper strips to create full turtle shells. All together, in our large group, we made tiny turtles. First, we decorated the shells with lentils, and then we glued them to the bodies and added eyes to create our little take-home creatures. We had a great Thursday!
