Hooray for Friday Fun Day! We rescheduled our Water Day, and good thing, because it was hot! We enjoyed staying wet and cool this morning as we played in the sensory bins and sprinklers. Several of us, including our teachers, participated in a water dumping fight, which we found hilarious! The wet slide was a big hit again, but our morning wouldn't have been the same without popsicles! It was a fantastic Friday!

(Summer Break) 

At circle time, we listened to Fourth of July Mice. Our first small group activity consisted of experimenting with bubble wrap to imitate fireworks! We were each given two different sizes of bubble wrap to determine which kind was the loudest. We also tried using our hands, feet, bottoms, and even elbows to see which method worked the best to pop all of the bubbles. The concensus was that feet worked best, though we could not agree on whether the small or large bubble wrap was louder. For the second activity, we practiced red, white, and blue patterning. Then, as the last group, we worked our small muscles to create patriotic necklaces and bracelets by hole punching red, white, and blue paper squares and lacing them onto yarn. We had an awesome Thursday!

(Summer Break) 

Today, at circle time, we listened to Red, White, and Boom! For our first small group activity, we played an Independence Day themed BINGO! We created red, white, and blue star eruptions in the second group. We took turns filling star ice trays with baking soda, and then we added squirts of dish soap and food coloring before squeezing vinegar on top and watching the patriotic, bubbly reaction! Because the weather warmed up, we waited to complete our whole group activity until after snack so we could spend a little more time outside this morning. Some of us created our own American flags by cutting strips of red and white paper, gluing all the pieces together, and using Q-tips to dot on white stars. It was a wonderful Wednesday!
